The Old Hurley Store, built in 1912 by the Chino Mines Division of Kennecott Copper Corporation, included the payroll office and was built for the convenience of the miners and thier families who worked in the nearby Hurley smelting plant.  It also served everyone Hurley as well as those in the Grant County area.
