JW Art Gallery Monotype Workshops


Workshops are offered Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Materials to bring with you: Your lunch, Ideas for your piece or pieces and your personality!
All printmaking supplies are included in your workshop fees.

Full Day Workshop Schedule 

9:00 - 9:30
  View an introduction to printmaking video which will give you an overview of the entire process of printmaking and the basics to getting started.

9:30 - 12:00
After familiarization with the materials needed to begin printmaking, you will be assigned a workspace, a plexiglass plate, ink, brushes and tools needed to create your art. As each individual completes a piece, the instructor will place it on the press and complete the printing process. Each piece is then set aside to dry. Finished pieces may be taken home at the end of the day.

12:00-12:30
Lunch  (Your own, or, we recommend the nearby Hurley Copper Grill

12:30 - 1:00
- A short review of finished pieces including suggestions on technique and other methods of printing. Your instructor will be available at all times to answer questions etc.

1:00 - 4:00
- Continue printmaking.

4:00-4:30
Easy clean-up session: Note: we do not use mineral spirits in the cleanup process. We supply Simple Green (an everyday household cleaning product) & baby oil.
